Our 3-6th grades will begin end of level testing on Monday, April 22, and continue the first two weeks of May. This testing is now done entirely on computers, so students will not be testing everyday – just when their grade is scheduled in the lab. We are excited for students to be able to demonstrate what they have learned this year. We are working to raise the percentage of our students that are proficient in reading and math. That information will be reported at our first Community Council meeting next fall.
Our goal at Roy Elementary is that EVERY student will be proficient in reading and math.
Here are some things families can do to help with testing:
- Make sure children get a good breakfast
- Talk about the testing and encourage your child to do their very best.
- Keep your home environment as calm as possible in the morning so that children do not feel emotionally stressed at school.
- Be your child’s cheerleader and encourage them to ‘believe in themselves’!
With encouragement from home and school we are very hopeful that our students will give their best effort and show what they have learned!
